Thank you so much for taking care of our girl! She may be a bit shy at first, but if she warms up to you, she will be playful and sweet! She LOVES to play, so hopefully she is comfortable enough to get some energy out and show off her hunting skills. We really appreciate your help!
Pepper is home wherever there are chipmunks and chickadees about. However, she keeps residence with her parents as she is currently between jobs.
A star is born
Pepper Jane is born to Idaho and Jalena in Oxford, CT. This is where Jane learned about conservative politics.
New beginning
Jane absconds the cattery and joins the Loftises in Cheshire, CT. Her sister suffers a fate far worse, taken to New Jersey.
On the move
The family moves into their first house. Jane claims the largest bedroom, complete with abundant windows and a fireplace.
Best friends
Pepper Jane meets her brother, Nolan James. Their bond grows stronger daily.
Keep Jane thriving. Here are the essentials you need to know.
Food has been placed on the counter for your convenience. Once a new can is opened, Pepper’s leftover wet food can be placed on the top shelf of the fridge. For each meal, please put half the can of food in her dish. If there is other food in the dish, please dispose of it. She’s a diva and will ignore it if it does not meet her standards of freshness.
Please top off Pepper’s dry food as well. There is a clear plastic container on the counter. She prefers this to be heaping full, but not overflowing.
Pepper is brimming with sophistication and only drinks water from human glassware. Please add fresh, cold water to the glass cup on the coffee table and nightstand. If you use the restroom, you may have the privilege and duty of angling the running faucet water closer to her to sip. If your service is satisfactory, she will thank you with licks to your hand.
The litter box is located in the basement for Jane’s personal privacy. The stairs are located in the kitchen, and you can find Jane's litter box at the bottom of the staircase, on your right. There is a scooper and a small waste basket with a lid. Lift the black lid to scoop into the "Litter Genie," then pull the black out the handle on the front to allow the waste to slide downward. As a lady, Pepper strives to be as hygienic as possible.
As all good parents know, health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Jane has no boundaries. However, we keep her inside because we are evil parents (according to her). She is fine to wander into the basement but not allowed in the attic. She has been known to be a “lil’ sneak” and try to squeeze out any exterior door as you open it.
Feel free to give her as many Temptations or chicken treats as you’d like! They are available in the white jar labeled “treats.” She usually gets them on her cat tree in the kitchen. I usually leave two on the middle platform and one on the highest platform. Please be sure to put the lid back on the jar when you are done! Her current obsession is the Churu treat (a flavored, lickable paste). We try not to give her an entire tube in one sitting. When she has had half of the tube, please put it in a Ziploc bag, then put it in the refrigerator. If you leave it out, she will chew through the bag!
Janey’s favorite places include: her cat tree in the sunroom, under the master bed, in one of the closets, in her office cat tree, and on the living room bench.
Pepper has plenty, as discussed. If you would like to watch TV, the remote is on the coffee table. Press the home key (house icon), then use the arrows to access Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Apple TV, or Hulu Live. In Hulu, scroll right to the “Live” header, where you can watch live TV on most major networks. Press the down arrow again when watching a show to see the Live TV guide.
It means so much to us that Pepper is well taken care of while we’re away. Feel free to text us if you have any questions. ♥
